Maoli Art in Real Time opens at Hawaii Convention Center

The MAIRT Maoli Art in Real Time exhibition showcases contemporary Hawaiian art from September 2 to the 5th at the Hawaii Convention Center, Molokai Ball Room.
The event will feature artists and interactive art sessions for the public and offers a chance to buy some great fine art from Hawaii's Contemporary Artists.

Honolulu Micro site is a sucess

The Public art installation at Mark's Garage was successful, my sculpture survived three months of existence in downtown Honolulu without a single incident.
The community really liked having art that could be enjoyed from the side walk. We will be moving ahead to identify other high traffic sites and will need business building owners to agree to become partners to support art in Honolulu.
The idea of Micro sites Honolulu will be to showcase local contemporary artists on  a rotating three month basis.  The art installations must be designed to minimize impact to the lawns and return the site to its original condition.  The idea is to keep the art fresh and afford the community an opportunity to get out a walk around Honolulu and discover what is new.  The next installation by Kazu Kauinana located at Mark's will open on September 6, 2013.  Email me at mydesignworks2@gmail.com for more information.
