Contact Art Show 2017 featuring local artists

Opens Friday July 7, 2017
Marks Garage, Honolulu, Hawaii

"A lasting Legacy"
Over the past 2,000 years many people have made Hawaii home each adding to the richness of the culture by respecting, embracing and contributing to the evolution of Hawaii's unique culture.

The stone/pohaku is moving through time and space, each of the multi-colored horizontal forms represent the many generations who have made Hawaii home and have been affected by the magic of Hawaii.  As future generations make Hawaii home each succeeding level will grow and they will leave their legacies while the pohaku will remain unchanged.  The color variations on each level represent the temporal cycles: the yesterdays, todays and tomorrows experienced by the various generations that all contribute to the legacy.
